Projects

Welcome to our project page. Refinishing furniture is our specialty and is how we started. We love taking old furniture, fixing them and updating it. It keeps perfectly good wood out of landfills and it is customized to fit in your space just the way you like it. Here are some examples of work we have done.

Before

An early 20th century tea cart. Parts of the veneer on the top were badly damaged as well as the wheels. We repaired the veneer as best we could.

After

The client wanted rich colours to compliment her home. We brought out the grain on the burl walnut top and gave it a high gloss finish.  The body is painted in a rich navy.

Before

This mahogany server was covered in a dark stain and didn't show the grain at all. It was also in need of refinishing.

After

We stripped the finish and removed the colour of the original stain to show the natural colour of mahogany. The legs and trim were stained dark for contrast. Everything was coated in a high gloss finish.

Before

Our client had a unique space with certain width and depth requirements, and because it was between two doors, it needed to feel right-It couldn't be too tall.

One thing we noticed right away was the beautiful elm grain on this dresser and wanted to bring it out in the best possible way. We refinished it using a French beeswax polish and left the wood in its natural colour.

Before

Our client wanted a large tall dresser made from solid wood. We found one from the 1980s and removed all the details.

Before

An early 20th century dresser painted to look like quarter sawn oak. The top was warped, the bottom of the drawers were broken and it needed a really good clean. We took the dresser apart to fix everything and cleaned it.

After

Once we stripped the fading original faux finish, we found that there was elm underneath. We kept the natural colour of the elm and finished the front of the drawers in a brown wax and painted the sides and trim in ash black.
